{Crochet} Flower Girl Collar
Hi there ! It’s beginning to look like autumn in Georgia. The leaves are changing color and the weather is just perfect. I wish it could be like this all year long.
So today, I brought my Lexus for a car wash and as I expected the line was long.
I came prepare to kill time. I had my yarn, crochet hook and collar pattern.
I decided to make this simply pretty collar to embellish my daughter’s plain clothes and imbue them with personality.
This pretty collar is a free pattern for you, designed by Crochetlatte . I simplified and adjusted the pattern a little bit to fit my daughter’s size {petite 6 years old}.
OK, Let’s crochet !
COLLAR
Hook: 4.0 mm
Yarn: 4 ply – Caron Simply Soft
Note: Chain 2 at the beginning of row does not count as HDC
Ch 54
R1: HDC in 3rd Ch from hook and in each to end. Ch 2 and turn. {52}
R2: * HDC in next 3 sts. 2 HDC in st * Repeat to end. Ch 2 and turn {65}
R3: * HDC in next 4 sts. 2 HDC in st * Repeat to end. Ch 2 and turn. {78}
R4: * HDC in next 5 sts. 2 HDC in st * Repeat to end. Ch 1 and turn. {91}
R4: Skip 2 sts. 5 DC in next st. * DC in next 5 sts, 2 DC in next st * Repeat until you have 4 sts left. 5 DC in next st. ch 1, sl st in last st.
If you wish finish off by SC all around the edge of the collar, Don’t forget to add extra SCs for the corners.
Cast off. Weave in ends.
LARGE FLOWER (Teal)
Hook: 2.0 mm
Yarn: embroidery yarn. I used 4 ply.
Leave a long tail to stitch the flower to the collar. Make a magic ring.
R1: 10 SC in the ring. Join to first SC with a sl st. (change colours here if you wish)
R2: *ch 10 and sl st in same st. ch 10 and sl st in same st* Repeat in all remaining 9 SC (giving you 20 10 ch loops). sl st in first SC.
Cast off.
SMALL FLOWER (Light Pink)
Hook: 2.0 mm
Yarn: embroidery yarn. I used 4 ply.
Leave a long tail to stitch the flower to the collar. make a magic ring
R1: 10 SC in the ring. Join to first SC with a sl st. (change colors here if you wish)
R2: * Ch 2. 1 DC in the next st. 1 HDC in same st. Sl st into next st* Repeat to end – You should have 5 petals.
Cast off.
LEAVES
Hook: 2.0 mm
Yarn: embroidery yarn. I used 4 ply.
Leave a long tail to stitch the leaf to the collar. Chain 7
R1: SC in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in next ch. DC in next 3 chs. Work (2 HDC. ch 2. 2 HDC) in last ch. Now working on opposite side of foundation chain. DC in next 3 chs. HDC in next ch. SC in last ch. Join with sl st into first SC.
Cast off.
TIES
I attached yarn to the corner of the collar and chained 70 with a 2 mm hook. Cast off.
I was able to finish the collar and 2 leaves while waiting for my car wash. Then it took me another hour to complete the whole thing.
