where vintage meets modern …
Last year for my wedding, I challenged myself to design a prototype for simple and elegant wedding. My mission was to buy less and re-use what I have had in my garage.
Everything began with my discovery at DollarTree Store …
These were mirrors and I love the frames so much. After seeing the possibility that I could turn them into my wedding invitations, I cleared the shelf right away. I accessorized it with peacock feather, ribbon and diamond buckle. I love how they look… very rich.
I opposed of the traditional guest book. I want something useful and can be a part of my house decoration … vase is the answer.
For the ceremony site,
I made individual strands of crystals and satin rose petals; then arrange them in a long wooden stick for easiness of installation on the D day. The whole gazebo was decorated with 9’ long strands of iridescent crystal curtains, individual made strands of crystals and rose petals, about 10 dz. of silk cherry blossoms, 8 dz. of white Dendrobium orchids and curly willows.
Silver rose ring holder …
Cornbread Entertainment …
My cake was inspired by Christina Aquilera’s wedding cake. My parents made the cake topper, my husband assembled the cake pieces, I sew the beads curtain and decorated the whole cake with silk flowers and my friend baked the yummy cupcakes. What a team work, heh !
Since we couldn’t cut our artificial cake, we shared cupcake instead…
My centerpiece: manzanita and live fish. I wanted something alive as part of my centerpiece.
My wedding bouquet consists of Hydrangea, Stephanotis, Roses and Peonies. Too bad I have to leave Gardenia of the list due to summer heat. The stem was wrapped with rosary from Lourdes.
Last but not least, here is The royal candy buffet…
Many thanks to my friends and fellow florist who made my wedding day memorable.
