{Crochet} Baby booties pattern, style 1

After making Bunny shoes for my daughter last December, I was kinda addicted to crochet shoes.  My goal this time is to make Baby stuff.

So here is my first Baby Stuff project: baby booties.

The original pattern is here: Baby booties pattern 1 by Hut’s Crochet. The tutorial is for three sizes; newborn – 3 months and (3-6 months, 6-9 months).

I made {newborn – 3 months} size and adjusted step 4 because I couldn’t understand how the pattern work.

Materials:

Worsted yarn, medium 4 { I use CARON Simply Soft }

Size 3.5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

1/2″ buttons

Abbreviations:

ss = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

Hdc = half double crochet

DC = Double crochet

Tutorial for three sizes; newborn – 3 months

Step 1: Chain 11

Step 2: Work 2 Hdc into the 2nd chain from the hook.  Hdc 8x, work 6 Hdc into the last chain.  Hdc 8x, work 2 Hdc into the last chain.  Join with ss into the 1st Hdc. { 26 sts }

Step 3: Ch 1, 2 sc into the same stitch as ch 1, 2sc, 2sc 8x, Hdc, 2 Hdc into the next 5, Hds, sc into the next 8, 2 sc into the last 2 stitches.  Join with ss into the 1st sc. { 36 sts }

Step 4: Ch 1, Hdc into the same stitch as ch 1, 2 Hdc, Hdc, 2 Hdc, Hdc 8, *2Hdsc 1 Hdc* 2x, 2Hdc into the next 4, *2Hdsc 1 Hdc* 2x, Hdc 8, *2Hdsc 1 Hdc* into the last 4 stitches. join with ss into the 2st hdc. { 48 sts }

Step 5: Ch 2, TURN.  Work ss all around to form a border, end with  slip stitch where you made ch 1.  Fasten off. { 48 sts }

Step 6: Change yarn color.  Ch 1, sc into the same stitch as ch 1, work sc all around.  Join with ss into the 1st sc. { 48 sts }

Step 7: Ch 1, Hdc into the same stitch as ch 1, work Hdc all around.  Join with ss into the 1st Hdc. { 48 sts }

Step 8: Ch 1, 1 sc in the same stitch as ch 1, sc, sc2tog, sc 8x, Hdc 2x, Dc2tog 10x, Hdc 2x, sc 8x, sc2tog, sc 2x.  Join with ss into the 1st sc.  { 36 sts }

Step 9: Ch 1, sc into the same stitch as ch 1, sc 11, Hdc 2x, Dc2tog 4x, Hdc 2, sc 12.  {32 sts }

Step 10: Ch 1, sc into the same stitch as ch 1, sc 10x, Hdc 2x, Dc2tog 3x, Hdc 2x, sc 11x. Join with ss into the 1st sc. { 29 sts }

Step 11: Ch 2, Hdc into the same stitch as ch 2, work Hdc all around.  Join with ss into the 1st Hdc.  { 29 sts }

Step 12-14: Ch 2, Dc into the same stitch as ch 2, work Dc all around.  Join with ss into the 1st Dc.  { 29 sts }  Fasten off.

Step 15: {Making strap} Ch 15, Hdc into the 2nd chain from hook.  Hdc till the end.  Fasten off and make two of them.

Sew strap on shoe and add a button.
