{Cooking} Chicken Lettuce Wrap
I really love this simple dish. You can prepare the chicken ahead of time and keep it refrigerated. It does not require too much ingredients and you can give it variety by adding water chestnuts, basil or tofu.
I added slices of Thai chili pepper on mine.
Chicken Lettuce Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion diced
- 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 2 stalks green onions sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 head lettuce
Instructions
-
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to un-crumble the chicken as it cooks; drain excess fat.
-
Stir in garlic, onion, hoisin sauce, soy sauce and ginger until onions have become soft, about 1-2 minutes.
-
Stir in green onions and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
-
Spoon several tablespoons of the chicken mixture into the center of a lettuce leaf.
This recipe is very budget friendly and quick to make. In 15 minutes, you’ll get your Asian dish on your table ready to eat.
