{Cooking} Easy Pumpkin Pudding recipe
On my recent trip to Indonesia, I was introduced to this Pumpkin pudding and I loved it. So now that I am back in the US and pumpkins are everywhere especially after Halloween, I wait no longer to recreate this dessert.
This is not your typical pumpkin pudding which has creamy and smooth texture. It’s more like jello texture without the jiggly-ness.
Pumpkin Pudding
Ingredients
- 200 gr pumpkin / squash
- 3 cup water
- 4 tablespoon sugar Add more as needed
- 1 sachet agar-agar
Instructions

Steam pumpkin or squash. Then soften with fork or blender. Add 1 cup water.

Mix all ingredients and bring to boil. Stir occasionally.

Pour into molds or cups.

Refrigerate. Pudding is done when hardened. Serve cold !
At this point, you can enjoy your pumpkin puddings or continue making the coconut milk sauce.
I personally doesn’t need the extra calories. So I usually eat it without coconut milk sauce. If you like to proceed, follow the recipe below.
Coconut milk sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp corn starch
Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a small pot, .

Boil with low heat. Stir continuously.

Remove from heat and pour into pumpkin pudding. {Make sure the pudding has hardened.

Refirgerate. Serve cold !
